SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) – Bay Port is off to a 10-5 start to the season after winning just seven games a year ago. A large reason for the Pirates success is the play of junior Melia Lemorande. The junior is averaging the second-most points in the FRCC at nearly 20 per game.
But Lemorande’s path to lighting up the state sheet wasn’t without adversity. After playing varsity as a freshman, she tore her ACL during a volleyball open gym, ending her sophomore season before it even started. But after countless months of hard work, the junior has returned to the court without skipping a beat.
