Wisconsin Timber Rattlers welcome new ownership group that owns multiple MiLB clubs

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ ownership group announced on Thursday that they agreed to sell the team to an organization that owns multiple Minor League Baseball clubs.

Third Base Ventures’ Craig Dickman, Rob Zerjav and Brad Raaths, the group that currently owns the club, announced the decision via a release, expressing excitement over the opportunity to join a new group.

“We are excited to be joining Diamond Baseball Holdings, which shares our passion for baseball and community,” Zerjav said via the release. “Their commitment to preserving what makes the Timber Rattlers special, while helping us grow into the future, made this the right move.”

Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) owns and operates multiple Minor League ballclubs affiliated with Major League teams. The organization started in 2021, intending to support and enhance Minor League Baseball teams through investment and innovation.

The Brewers’ High-A affiliate since 2009, the Timber Rattlers will remain in their current space in the Fox Cities and the front office staff will still operate under team President and CEO Rob Zerjav’s guidance.

“This is a club with a storied history, strong community roots and a bright future in Appleton under Rob Zerjav’s continued leadership,” Pat Battle and Peter Freund, Executive Chairman and CEO, said via the release. “We’re excited to support him and the team as we kick off our new partnership with the Brewers.”

The deal is not official yet, but the release said it should be completed soon, pending league consent and other conditions being met.
