Wisconsin man wins $1 million on scratch-off ticket, first top prize for new game

RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man is the first person to win the $1 million top prize in the Wisconsin Lottery’s Million Dollar Diamonds scratch-off game.

According to a release, Daniel Macemon of Racine purchased the winning ticket at the Pick ‘n Save on Douglas Avenue in Racine and claimed his prize at the Wisconsin Lottery offices in Madison on Friday.

Million Dollar Diamonds is a $30 scratch game that launched on March 14, 2025, with three top prizes of $1 million. Macemon’s win marks the game’s first top prize to be claimed.

The scratch-off features 11 different prize levels ranging from $30 to $1,000,000. In addition to Macemon’s win, tickets worth $10,000 and $50,000 have also been claimed since the game’s release.

Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent incentive through the Lottery’s Retailer Performance Program, up to $100,000. For selling the winning ticket, the Racine Pick ‘n Save will receive a $20,000 bonus.

Big wins are becoming a trend at the Racine Pick ‘n Save. Since 2017, the store has sold two winning Badger 5 jackpots, a $100,000 All or Nothing top prize, a $50,000 Powerball winner, a $92,262 Fast Play Progressive Jackpot, two $10,000 Mega Millions winners, and scratch ticket prizes of $10,000 and $20,000.
