PORTAGE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 44-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested on February 14 and formally charged with 20 counts of child pornography on Wednesday.
According to the Portage Police Department, Jonathan Schneiter of Portage was arrested after a tip identified him as a person in possession of possible child sexual abuse material.
A search warrant at his home in Portage revealed that Schneiter had intentionally downloaded and kept numerous images and videos of suspected child sexual abuse materials.
Schneiter is in custody at the Columbia County Jail on a $10,000 bond, and each of the 20 counts is a Class D Felony, which is punishable by fines of up to $100,000 and or up to 25 years in prison.

Each of the charges requires a mandatory minimum prison sentence of three initial years of confinement.
