Wisconsin man arrested in connection to 2021 murder of his father, held on $1 million bond

NEKOOSA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 26-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the murder of his father over 3 1/2 years ago.

According to the Nekoosa Police Department, the original incident occurred on July 22, 2021, when police officers responded to a call reporting an unresponsive man at a home.

First responders attempted life-saving procedures; however, they were unsuccessful. An investigation revealed that 58-year-old Thomas Tourtillott died from injuries indicative of foul play.

Jason Tourtillott was identified as a person of interest and was then deemed to be involved. Tourtillott is charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide by the Wood County District Attorney’s Office and is currently held at the Wood County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Tourtillott was arrested in Wisconsin Rapids with the assistance of multiple departments. No more details were provided.
