Wisconsin Army National Guard connects with local teachers through helicopter rides

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A group of educators in Green Bay got the experience of a lifetime on Thursday as the Wisconsin Army National Guard invited them to join a ride in an iconic helicopter.

Teachers got to tour facilities and attend flight briefings as they prepared for a ride in a UH-60 Blackhawk, one of the most well-known units in the Army’s fleet.

Known for being versatile in combat and humanitarian missions, the helicopters toured around the area, providing views of the landscape throughout Wisconsin.

“Events like these help demystify what we do and bring our community closer,” Captain Kevin Wolf, one of the event coordinators said. “When teachers understand our mission and capabilities, they can share this knowledge with their students, potentially inspiring future generations to consider careers in the National Guard.”
