Skeletal remains investigation in Waushara County leads to two arrests, cash bond set for both

LEON, Wis. (WFRV) – Two people were arrested after officials conducted a search warrant regarding the investigation into skeletal remains found in Waushara County on March 13.

According to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, the search warrant resulted in the arrests of 57-year-old Jerry Wendler and 48-year-old Wade McLees.

Wendler is charged with the following:

  • Felon possessing a firearm
  • Methamphetamine possession
  • 2nd Offense THC possession
  • Receiving or Concealing Stolen Property
  • Drug Paraphernalia possession
  • Active Wisconsin Department of Community Corrections warrant

McLees was charged with the following:

  • Methamphetamine possession
  • Three counts of felony bail jumping
  • Drug Paraphernalia possession

McLees also has three open felony cases in Adams and two open cases in Waushara County. Both men had bail/bond hearings in Waushara County Circuit Court on Friday, with Wendler ordered to post a $2,000 cash bond and McLees $1,000.
