The Owens Corning Roof Development Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them.

Since the program’s inception in 2016, more than 575 military members have received new roofs, with Roesler being the latest.

Local 5 News caught up with Ethan Hanson, marketing and events manager for Security-Luebke Roofing, to discuss the project in more detail.

“Curtis was in need of a roof and the one currently on his home is 24 years old,” said Hanson. “Our typical lifespan we see for Wisconsin is about 17 to 25 years for a roof, so his roof was in need of replacement.”

Employees at Security-Luebke Roofing replaced the asphalt shingles and provided Roesler with gutters and gutter-shield protection.

“The fact my roof was one year within its relm of warranty, the roof was starting to show major wear,” explained Roesler. “It’s pretty exciting that this is getting taken care of for me, and I don’t have to think about this roof for the next 25 to 30 years.”
