Horse-drawn buggy and vehicle collide in Waupaca County, woman left with life-threatening injuries

DUPONT, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and two children were also hurt after a horse-drawn buggy and vehicle collided in Waupaca County on Thursday night.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified of the crash around 7 p.m. on March 27. Deputies say the crash happened on County Highway C near Sprenger Road in Dupont.

As a result of the crash, a 49-year-old woman who was driving the buggy was flown by a Theda Star helicopter to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two young passengers, ages three and 11, were also sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies say the driver of the other vehicle was a 34-year-old man, he reportedly suffered minor injuries.
