Electrical issue sparks shed fire in Outagamie County

BUCHANAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters in Outagamie County quickly extinguished a shed fire Monday evening that is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the Buchanan Fire Department responded to the W100 block of Clancy Lamers Road after a neighbor alerted the homeowner to smoke coming from their shed. The homeowner confirmed the smoke and called emergency services.

When firefighters arrived, they observed heavy smoke but no visible flames. After further investigation, crews found flames on the northeast side of the structure.

Firefighters established a water supply and extinguished the flames within about 15 minutes. Ventilation and overhaul operations were conducted to ensure all hot spots were eliminated.

Authorities determined the fire was electrical in nature, though the exact origin remains undetermined. No damage estimate has been provided as of 9:15 p.m.

Fire and overhaul operations were completed within two-and-a-half hours, and all units cleared the scene.
