33-year-old man admits to drinking, arrested in Oshkosh during traffic stop for 5th OWI offense

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say a driver in Oshkosh is now being held in the Winnebago County Jail after being arrested early Tuesday morning for his 5th OWI offense.

According to a release, a trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol Fond du Lac Post stopped a vehicle at 2:27 a.m. on Main Street and Merritt Avenue in Oshkosh after seeing the vehicle fail to stop at a red light.

While approaching the stopped vehicle, officials say the driver, 33-year-old Zachary Keefer from Pickett, admitted to drinking and the trooper observed other signs of impairment.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and an evidentiary blood sample was collected leading to Keefer being arrested and taken to the Winnebago County Jail for his 5th OWI offense.
