21-year-old Wisconsin man arrested on arson suspicions after being seen at location that caught on fire

LOMIRA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicions of arson after he was allegedly seen at a house shortly before a reported house fire.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received multiple calls about a fire in Lomira in the 900 block of Main Street around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Witnesses who saw the fire alerted dispatch to a suspicious man at the location shortly before the first was reported.

Deputies arrived on scene quickly as they began clearing the house to determine if anybody was inside. Lomira Fire Department crews arrived to fight the fire while also clearing for occupants.

Nobody was in the home at the time, but two dogs were removed and are safe.

The Sheriff’s Office followed up on the suspicious person reports and a 21-year-old Lomira man was placed under arrest and booked into the Dodge County Jail for arson.

The fire and incident are still under investigation. No more details were provided.
