Moped driver in critical condition after truck misses stop sign in North Fond du Lac

NORTH FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The driver of a moped had to be air-lifted to a hospital and is reportedly in critical condition after it was hit by a truck in North Fond du Lac on Thursday.

According to the North Fond du Lac Police Department, officers received a call about a two-vehicle crash at 5:35 p.m. on March 13. Officers say the crash involved a pickup truck and a moped at Chapman Avenue and Marcoe Street.

An initial investigation showed that a westbound truck on Marcoe Street allegedly ran a stop sign at Chapman Avenue, colliding into a moped crossing the intersection.

It is being reported that the moped driver suffered substantial injuries and is currently in critical condition. They had to be air-lifted from the scene to a nearby hospital.

Officers noted that the driver, and passenger, of the truck are fully cooperating with the investigation and that impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
