BRUSSELS, Wis. (WFRV) – Theater students at Southern Door High School will soon be stepping into the world of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, which is part of the Center Stage program.
The elaborate performance of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas has been described as a fun, light-hearted show with lavish costumes and numerous costume changes, roughly 378 to put it into perspective!

Southern Door High School’s 55th musical is guaranteed to showcase the many beautiful Irving Berlin songs featured in the play. There will also be plenty of tapping! with 408 steps during the performance of Blue Skies alone, not to mention that around 70% of the plays tap dancers have never tap danced until this show.
While working on the production, Southern Door’s director said their favorite memory was how the cast became a family through the various learning, struggling, and challenging moments during rehearsals.
The cast grew to look after one another, help peach other, and come together as a unified ensemble on stage, although the many set pieces and set changes have been challenging at times.

Southern Door’s performance of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is part of the Fox Cities P.A.C.’s Center Stage Program. When asked what that means to them, the director said “It’s awesome that the students have the chance to see other schools perform and receive feedback from their performance. Plus Center Stage offers recognition for students’ talents and passions.”
The play’s director also noted that there will be a heartfelt nod to local Veterans at the end of the show.
