Cool and blustery, lake effect rain Tuesday

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Cool and blustery conditions are expected in the near term. The two main weather factors in the next 24 hours will be the gusty winds producing lake effect rain, especially near Lake Michigan and the Bay, along with the cold temperatures area wide tonight with freeze warning in place. This signals the end to the growing season for many counties by Wednesday morning.

A mix of clouds and pockets of sunshine Monday. It will feel cold with the north/northeast winds that pick up from 15 to 30 miles per hour this morning and afternoon. The wind direction coming from the lake will produce lake effect showers over a small part of the area during the day.

Tonight, clouds and showers go away completely when the wind shifts in direction to the northwest. It’s going to be a cold night as Freeze Warnings are in place. Door County officially under a Frost Advisory where it will be a little warmer. The low is 31 degrees!

Wednesday will be cold in the morning, then a bit warmer than today once the afternoon comes around. Mostly sunny and 58 degrees.

Looking nice later this week! Sunny and breezy Thursday with a high of 65 degrees.

Sunny and breezy again Friday with a high of 70 degrees.

Mostly sunny Saturday with a high of 71 degrees. A weak front could potentially bring a stray shower up north, but it is now looking that it will be just some added cloud cover.

Mostly sunny for gameday on Sunday! Looking really nice with a high of 73 degrees.
