MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Charter Communications has announced the permanent closure of one of its Region Operations Centers in southern Wisconsin, resulting in over 30 employees being laid off.
According to a letter sent from Charter Communications to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) on August 28, the American telecommunications and mass media company will be permanently closing its Region Operations Center in Madison. It was noted that the entire facility will not be closed as a result.
Officials say that effective October 28, 36 employees will be laid off due to the closure. The letter states that “Charter does not employ any employees represented by a Union and does not recognize bumping rights.”
