“Kathleen” by Catfish And The Bottlemen

The band consists of Van McCann (lead vocals), Johnny 'Bondy' Bond (lead guitar), Benji Blakeway (bass guitar) and Bob Hall (drums). The band members all moved to Llandudno from different areas including Sheffield and Newcastle. Van moved from Australia at a young age where he met a busker named 'Catfish the Bottleman', who he credits as the inspiration behind the band's name.

The band signed to Communion Records in 2013  and throughout 2013 released their first three singles: "Homesick", "Rango", and "Pacifier". In 2014 the band signed to Island Records and on March 17, released their first single of the year, "Kathleen", produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Adele) and released their debut album later in the year. All of the singles released were premiered as Zane Lowe’s hottest record in the world and were playlisted on Radio 1. "Kathleen" ranked at number one on MTV's hottest tracks in April 2014.

In the summer of 2014, Catfish and the Bottlemen performed at over 30 festivals in the UK/Europe including Reading & Leeds, Latitude, Kendal Calling, Tramlines, Ibiza Rocks, and Governors Ball in New York City.

On June 19th 2014 the band announced the release of their debut album 'The Balcony' which was released September 15th 2014. Following the announcement of the album the band also announced a full UK tour.

The album charted at No.10 in the official UK albums chart in the week ending 27 September
